From the more adventurous wheelbarrow to classic missionary, we all have our go-to moves in bed.
But if you ask women, there seems to be one sex position we almost universally hate — which is bad news for the men saying they find it ‘sexy as hell’.
Reverse cowgirl doesn’t exactly have us ladies screaming ‘yee-haw’, with hundreds of women on Reddit agreeing it’s their least favourite way to have sex.
‘The angle doesn’t do anything for me and staring at my partner’s legs and feet isn’t my favourite view,’ says one woman.
‘I really dislike reverse cowgirl,’ another shares. ‘It’s like getting poked in the wrong direction. Super uncomfortable and the view isn’t great.’
Someone else adds: ‘I hate this one. It’s so uncomfortable… plus staring at feet, plus feeling awkward about my a**hole pointed at him.’
Others didn’t enjoy the ‘pressure’ the angle of reverse cowgirl created in their vagina and pelvis, while some questioned what on Earth they were meant to do with their hands.
‘[It’s] not knowing if you should hold their shins, ankles, or the bed,’ someone else laughs.

A further 430 women in the thread agreed with this sentiment, cementing reverse cowgirl as one of, if not the most, disliked sex position in the game.
Cate Campbell, BACP accredited sex therapist and co-host of The Real Sex Education podcast, tells Metro this isn’t exactly surprising.
‘Some women find this position a complete turn off because it makes them feel self-conscious, especially as they usually have no eye contact with their partner,’ she explains.
‘Having their back to their partner is a major issue for some who may say they feel a bit used, particularly when they don’t experience much pleasure from the position.
‘Others are also put off by horror stories about the injuries to men that are said to occur in this position, usually when the woman leans forward to steady herself or rest.’
What are your thoughts on the reverse cowgirl position?

I’m a woman and I love it

I’m indifferent – I just want to see the results
Obviously, this isn’t the case for all women, with some finding it rather pleasurable.
Cate explains that increased contact with the G-spot and the ability to determine the depth and the speed of intercourse can give them an improved experience.
‘Some women find it fun to control when they speed up and slow down, although it does require a lot of stamina, which can distract from pleasure and become a bit exhausting,’ she adds.
Other unpopular sex positions
The main message seems to be that women want to see the face of the person they’re having sex with, and that’s pretty understandable.
It’s a theme that carries over into other sex positions women shared they weren’t a fan of: doggy style and the 69.
More on sex…
When talking about doggy style, one Redditor said: ‘I feel so distant from my partner during it, it feels like we’re having sex separately. I don’t feel much pleasure from it, I’m just there and have to go exorcist to at least see his facial expressions.’
‘Not being able to look at and make out with your partner and generally having sex while staring at the bed or wall is just not that interesting,’ added another.
When it comes to the most popular sex position (for both women and men), it’s missionary, with it hitting 736,900 google searched last year – more than any other position, according to Lloyds Online Doctor.
It tracks, given that 58% of survey respondents for the medical platform said comfort was a big factor that influenced their choice of sex position, while intimacy played a part for 48%.
Ultimately though, it’s whatever gets you off under the sheets – not what suits everyone else.
