Patrick and Yolande Trueman’s (Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter) wedding is thrown into chaos in EastEnders next week.
Having first wed in 2004, you’d have thought that the second ceremony would be plain sailing. But with a missing gun, estranged family members returning and the weight of Patrick’s recent attack taking its toll, it looks set to be anything but smooth.
A special week of episodes – all set on what is supposed to be a happy occasion – kick off on Monday.
With the truth surrounding Oscar Branning’s (Pierre Moullier) botched burglary now out in the open, the last thing Patrick wants to do is celebrate.
Yolande is naturally mortified, as the initial proposal signified a turning point in her life, that allowed her to step forward into the future and begin to heal after being sexually assaulted by vile church Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) last year.
As she crumbles into a state of despair, youngster Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) is optimistic that Patrick will see sense and be stood at the bottom of the aisle waiting for her.

Unfortunately, he’s made his mind up. It’s not happening.
EastEnders’ new set debuts
When Kim (Tameka Empson) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish) head down to the boxpark to make the final preparations for the event, viewers will get a first glimpse at wider Walford and a new playing space for the characters that has been constructed on the soap’s former backlot.
Featuring a high street, pizza place, gaming cafe, police station and hospital, it’s bound to become the hot new destination for Albert Square residents to visit.
Everyone takes to their seats ahead of the happy couple’s arrival, as Denise and Kim prepare themselves for a no-show. But, to their surprise, the Truemans are a picture of happiness and the wedding goes ahead.

Who convinced Patrick to change his mind?
Gun drama in Albert Square
Back on The Square, trouble’s brewing. Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is alarmed when Oscar presents him with a gun he’s found, and unbeknownst to them both, it belongs to Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
He’s been trying to track it down since Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) foolishly lost it, and decides to sneak into the Branning residence to retrieve it.
During his mission, Denise spots him lurking around and she alerts Jack. He quickly realises what’s going on and decides to confront him.
In The Vic, Howie’s deceit against Patrick is catching up with him, and Kim’s suspicions are rising.
The celebrations are suddenly stunted by the noise of a gunshot, that rings out through the area. The attendees drop to the floor, terrified of what might happen next.

Who has been shot, and by whom?
A life hangs in the balance, while a face from Kat Moon’s (Jessie Wallace) past shows up on her doorstep – it’s none other than her daughter Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan).
But what does she want, and will she provide an explanation for her estrangement?
There’s one thing for sure – Patrick and Yolande won’t forget their special day any time soon!
