The SSC-CdMx warned about a new type of home robbery in the capital.
Mexico City, October 28 (However).- A new type of theft is turning on the alerts in the Mexico City (CdMx): criminals they pretend to be delivery men of applications to enter homes and steal belongings.
Given the increase in complaints about this way of workingthe Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City (SSC-CdMx) warned about the risk and launched a series of recommendations to protect families.
The capital agency issued an alert about this method of theft known as “false delivery person,” a criminal tactic that simulates home deliveries to commit home robberies.

The deception begins when a supposed delivery person arrives with an order that the resident did not request. If there is no response or the door is opened without checking, criminals take the opportunity to enter, distract and steal valuables or money in a matter of seconds.
The prevention campaign includes recommendations such as:
- Check through a peephole or camera before opening.
- Make noise from inside.
- Take photos from a safe area.
- Contact the delivery company if there are questions.
- If you detect suspicious activity, you are asked to immediately report it to 911 or through the My Police App.
