The Wanted star Max George has revealed he’s returned to the hospital months after heart surgery.

The star, who rose to fame as 1/5 of boyband The Wantedwas initially rushed to A&E in December by his mother, who noticed he had ‘turned blue’.

After undergoing tests, the Glad You Came hitmaker had a pacemaker fitted just before Christmas.

The pop star, 37, has been recuperating since, before today sharing that he’s back in the hospital.

Max captioned the image of himself in a medical gown: ‘Tin man needed a bit of oil before tour🤘🏻Next stop… USA!!!🇺🇸.’

The Strictly star is set to join bandmate Siva Kaneswaran in Orlando, Florida on October 10 for the first of The Wanted 2.0’s US tour dates.

Earlier this year, he revealed he was forced to get a second heart operation, which came just weeks after initially having a pacemaker fitted.

Taking to Instagram, he told fans he had to return to the hospital after experiencing some ‘physical symptoms’ which led to doctors realising one of the pacemaker leads was placed ‘too far’ into his heart.

‘It’s been a setback, but it’s just one of those things,’ he said of the successful second surgery, which he spent listening to Oasis

Max explained that he had experienced a few complications, but he assured fans that his doctors are conducting ‘loads of tests to make sure everything is all good.’

He thanked fans for their ‘lovely messages and support’ during the admittedly ‘rough time’, he said the next steps would be allowing the ‘inflammation of my heart to subside (myocarditis).’

The issues with his heart even forced Max to cancel scheduled The Wanted gigs in February.

The new two-member version of the group – comprised of Max and his Wanted bandmate Siva Kaneswaran – was set to debut at Manchester Cathedral, but were forced to cancel due to Max’s health struggles.

An update from the band read at the time: ‘Event has been postponed. New date to be announced in due course. Info: Postponement due to health issues.’

Max also shared a video message on Instagram, telling fans he was ‘gutted’ to have to postpone. He said: ‘My second heart opp has just set me back a little bit with my recovery, and I’m just not going to be well enough in time. Yeah, [I’m] obviously so gutted.

‘Me and Siva are just working out now when we’re gonna do it, which we 100 per cent will. We just need to figure out a date in the near future.’

He concluded: ‘But thanks again for all your support. Siva’s been awesome, as always, and we can’t wait to get this venture going. It’s just one of them things. It’s a bummer, but I’ll see you very, very soon. Love you.’

Now, it seems, Max is still in the midst of his recovery as he once again finds himself in the hospital – hopefully this time for nothing more than a checkup.
