The World’s 50 Best Bars List Just Released an Even Bigger Ranking for 2025

Cocktail culture seems only to be growing and just two weeks before the curtain rises on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2025, the organization has unveiled its extended ranking of bars, places 51 through 100. Now in its ninth year, the 51–100 list functions as both an amuse-bouche and a global roadmap, assembled from the votes of more than 800 bartenders, cocktail educators, drinks writers, and hospitality veterans.

A Global Snapshot of Cocktail Culture

This year’s extended list spans 34 cities across six continents, with 16 new entries, signaling both the persistence of beloved institutions and the rise of new voices in cocktail culture. Once again, the United States dominates, with eight bars scattered across New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, and Chicago. New York leads with four inclusions, including newcomer Schmuck (No.59) and the return of Employees Only (No.95).

Mexico continues its ascendance, with Licorería Limantour (No.52) and fresh entries like Bar Mauro (No.54), while Canada’s Bar Pompette in Toronto surges 15 places to No.55. Latin America sees history made with Medellín’s first-ever appearances, Mamba Negra (No.81) and Bar Carmen (No.100), while São Paulo’s Exímia appeared at No.61.

Spain and Italy Shine

Europe boasts 15 bars on the list, Spain and Italy each claiming four. Madrid’s Angelita (No.51) narrowly missed the top 50, while Florence welcomed a Versace-like debut with Gucci Giardino (No.99). London secured three entries, including Three Sheets Soho (No.80), proof that the capital’s bar culture refuses to fade.

Asia’s New Order

For the first time in five years, Hong Kong overtakes Singapore as the region’s leading city, led by Argo (No.56) and new arrival Gokan (No.70). Tokyo reasserts itself with The SG Club (No.65) and the re-entry of Bar Trench (No.94), while Bangkok signals a bright future with two new names: Dry Wave Cocktail Studio (No.88) and Opium (No.92). In a milestone moment, Taichung’s Vender (No.74) becomes the first bar from the city to ever appear.

Beyond Borders

The extended list is increasingly kaleidoscopic: Hero Bar in Nairobi (No.69) represents East Africa; LPM Dubai (No.60) climbs steadily in the Middle East; and Byrdi in Melbourne (No.91) keeps Australia in play.
