If you were wondering how London’s burger game stacks up against the rest of the world, you don’t need to wonder any longer.
That’s because the world’s best burgers have just been revealed as part of the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants awards and spots around the capital absolutely dominated the top 10 list.
The number one went to Hundred Burgers in Valencia, but following closely behind in second place was Bleecker Burger, with Black Bear Burger in third.
A little further down at number eight was Hawksmoor and Burger and & Beyond came in ninth place.
Here’s everything you need to know about the best of the bunch…
Bleecker Burger

Founded by Zan Kaufman, Bleecker has eight locations across London currently, including Victoria, Soho, Seven Dials and Spitalfields, as well as delivery kitchens in Battersea and Canary Wharf.
The menu is made up of cheeseburgers, starting with the £9.75 classic cheeseburger featuring a UK beef patty aged for at least 40 days, American cheese, onion and house sauce.
Other options include a double cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, bacon double cheeseburger, a blue cheese burger and the symplicity burger (a veggie option).
There’s also a selection of fries, including fries, angry fries and house fries which cost around £5 per portion and a selection of milkshakes.
Online people have hailed Bleecker as ‘phenomenal’, a ‘10/10’ and say the burgers are a ‘thing of beauty’. It’s also worth noting the burgers have scooped some impressive awards, with the Bacon Double being crowned Britain’s best burger in 2024.
However, as always taste is subjective and not everyone is going to be a fan. Critic Grace Dent previously gave a scathing review, comparing it to a ‘depressed Five Guys’ (although this was in 2017, so we don’t know if her thoughts have changed since then).

Black Bear Burger
Black Bear’s Miso Bacon Burger was crowned the best burger at the National Burger Awards earlier this year, so it’s no surprise it’s also up there in the world rankings.
The bruger joint has three restaurants in London, at Westfield, Exmuth Market and Brixton, as well as several locations in Market Halls and Box Park food halls around the city, incluidng Victoria, Camden, Paddinton and Shoreditch.
The Miso Bacon Burger features a dry aged beef patty, cheese, smoked bacon, miso butter mayo and onion and costs £12.50.
Other options on the menu include a classic burger, the Black Bear burger, a brisket burger, hot honey chicken and a vegan burger. At the restaurants they also serve cocktails, fries, a rarebit crumpet and a brisket spring roll.
Customers on Reddit say the Miso Bacon is a ‘freaking beautiful burger’, it ‘turns them on’ and ‘looks sensational’. But there were some that thought it looked ‘messy’ and like a ‘heart attack’ waiting to happen.
Hawksmoor

Hawksmoor is no stranger to being on the world’s best burger list, as they came in first place back in 2023 thanks to the Big Matt.
This burger is a fancy tribute to McDonald’s iconic Big Mac and costs a whopping £19.50 (although that does include a side of beef dripping fries).
The burger itself features two dry aged beef patties, double American cheese, Hakwsmoor special sauce, shredded lettuce, onions and homemade pickles.
And yes, there’s a third piece of bread (a bottom bun) in the middle of the whole thing. Just like Maccies.
The epic burger, created by Hawksmoor Group executive chef Matt Brown, first launched in 2017 and quickly went viral. People branded it ‘extravagant’, ‘dlightful’ and were left ‘drooling’ over images of it online.

As a food writer, I’ve tried my fair share of burgers, but this one wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. Now that’s not to say that it isn’t good, because it is. The Big Matt is everything that a Big Mac should be. It’s an elevated Big Mac, if you will.
There’s no doubt in my mind that if I had to choose between spending a fiver on the McDonald’s version, or splashing three times that price on the Hawksmoor one, I’d part with the extra cash to eat something made with higher quality ingredients.
The meat in the Big Matt is juicier (as you’d hope would be the case at a steak restaurant), the buns are thicker, and there are a lot more pickles. All of this combined means the overall look of the burger is better and the flavour is much richer.
If the OG at Maccies is your go-to, you have to try this while it’s on the lunch menu, and you’ll probably never be able to look at a Big Mac the same way again.
Burger & Beyond
Burger & Beyond just made it into the top 10 of the world’s best, coming in ninth place.
The business has three locations across London, in Borough Yards, Shoreditch and Soho and it sells burgers as well as steaks.
Menu-wise, things get a bit more interesting here, with some twists on classics, including a chopped cheese focaccia, which features the signature dry aged beef patty chopped, American cheese, bone marrow onions, tomato, lettuce, jalapeños, Frnech’s mustard and smokey mayo on toasted focaccia.
There’s also a hot honey chicken burger, an oso yaki burger with teriyaki sauce, a French dip burger and a bacon butter burge that contains pancetta bacon as well as burnt butter mayo.
PRices for burgers start from £12 for a single cheeseburger and range to £19.50 for the bougie burger.
On Reddit, Burger & Beyond has been hailed as ‘incredible’, ‘the best’ and ‘exceptional’.
However, over on Tripadvisor some say it was ‘just ok’ and there were complaints the burgers contained too much sauce.

An honourable mention also has to be shared for Dove, which came in 11th place. Jackson Boxer’s Notting Hill restaurant is a favourite of Nigella Lawson, who hailed the burger there as ‘sensational’. However, it’s very hard to get hold of, as it’s an off-menu item and just 10 are available each day.
According to Jackson, the burger started out as a way to use up any leftover beef rib, to avoid any food waste.
He told Metro: ‘We have a big beef rib chop on the menu for two or three people to share, we cut this off in sections which have been dry aged for 50 days.
‘The burger is predominantly made from the trimmed rib cap, which has an incredible deep, rich, beefy flavour, we mix it to an exact ratio with some other cuts, mainly brisket, chuck, and aged beef fat.’
He added: ‘The beef is all from mature cows, three to five years, entirely outdoor reared in Yorkshire, Heritage breeds, mostly Belted Galloway and Highland, which are sourced for us by our butcher HG Walter.’
