A MUM has predicted there’s “going to be uproar” at her children’s school due to a new mobile phone rule that’s been introduced.
Lisa explained that there was an email sent round to all parents in which it stated that “as from September, children are not allowed to bring their mobile phones on site to school“.

All students are forbidden from using phones the entire time they’re in school uniform, which means they can’t use them on the way to and from school[/caption]
However, Lisa predicted in a video on her TikTok page that it’s all “gonna kick off”, as she admitted: “I’m not happy about it at all, but I know there’s gonna be lots of parents that are not happy about this!”
And while she didn’t get a phone herself until she was 16, she said that times have changed, and added: “We have that luxury now to know that our kids are safe and they’ve got their phones if ever they need us.
“This is senior school. These children walk to school, some get the bus to school.
“How can they be expected not to have a mobile phone on them?”
Lisa continued to say that the school had initially allowed students to use their phones at break and lunchtime, but “swiftly took that away”.
“And I agree with that,” she said.
“That’s great that they aren’t allowed to use their phones at school.
“But to not be allowed to have their phones on site, I don’t agree with it. I don’t agree with that at all.
“It now means that I will be taking mine and picking them up because I don’t I don’t feel that it’s it would be safe for them to walk to and from school without a phone now.”
In fact, the letter goes as far as to state that “children are not to use mobile devices whilst wearing the school uniform”.
“They are not allowed to physically have a phone to their ear in any school uniform and they will be punished for that if they’re caught outside of school using their mobile phone in school uniform,” she admitted.
“Like I say, there’s gonna be absolute uproar over this, I’m sure.”
People in the comments section quickly sparked a debate, as many argued that a phone is a necessity for journeys to and from school.
“I would not be ok not being able to contact my child or them contact me should they need to,” one wrote.
“They shouldn’t be using it during the day agreed but there are too many weirdos around to not give them a lifeline!!”
“If they want to reduce technology use, then they need to stop making the homework online etc,” another added.

“My kids will always go with a phone!”
“In my school there was multiple times where I had to phone my mum cause of an emergency,” a third commented.
“Kids need their phones in case something happens – they need contact with their parents whenever they need it.”
“That’s so controlling…. Yes no phones at school but how do they contact you if there’s an issue to or from school?!? Wow,” someone else raged.
“What happens if they get the bus to school and they miss it and need to call for a lift?” another wondered.
“What if they don’t live in walking distance and are going out with friends after school in that area?
“How do they call parents for a lift? What if something happens?”
However, others hit back and said they agreed with the rule, and kids shouldn’t need a phone at any point at school.
“If they can’t get to and from school without our a phone we collectively aren’t doing a good enough job,” one sighed.
“Honestly it doesn’t have to be such a huge deal.”
“Too right. Phones are wrecking their lives. Support the school,” another agreed.
I see no problem, we had no phones, we were OK!!!
My kids school is a no phone school and has been for years . And to be honest I think it’s a good idea stops the bullying and stops people filming fights and sharing it . But everyone is different
I’ll be devils advocate here a girl I worked with was voice recorded teaching a few weeks ago. The kids the used AI software to change what she said “sexual comments” and she’s under investigation. Hit rock bottom thinking her career is ruined! Kids do not need phones in school!
