Before, we must remember that Paco Ignacio Taibo II has other sexist expressions to his credit, since in 1997 he shouted: “We’re not going to fool around” when Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas won the Head of Government of the DF.
He also celebrated AMLO’s triumph with another phallic phrase of anal sex, not as mutual pleasure but as a manifestation of power and commitment: “We put them in folded”
This time, it was during the morning conference of President Claudia Sheinbaum, on the 23rd, when the official announced the free delivery of millions of books in 14 Latin American countries, but Of the 27 authors chosen, only 7 are women.

Pamela Cerdeira also criticizes President Sheinbaum’s reaction: “The President laughs. And according to figures from the National Chamber of the Mexican Publishing Industry (Canaiem)of all the books published in Mexico in 2019, only a fifth were written by female authors.
The data was revealed by the Women’s Secretariat and adds that “Currently, the figure has not changed a lot, Mexican authors continue to live inequalityit is not a lack of talent or interest on the part of the audience, but rather, there is an underrepresentation of women on editorial boards and in the positions that decide which books they publish and which ones will remain in manuscripts.”

They protest against the misogyny of Paco Taibo II
For this reason, on the morning of this Tuesday, October 28, the women’s collective called “The Horrible Ones” protested at the publishing house’s general offices in Ajusco, where they demanded that Paco Ignacio Taibo II resign from your position as director of the FCE and to ask for a public apology.
At the place, the group of about 20 poets read poems, posted photographs of narrators and poets, installed a clothesline with the names of writers, took roll call of the national authors and international, and requested the publication of an anthology only of contemporary, living women writers.
The group of poets, writers and artists repudiated the writer for his misogynistic statements and made it clear that it was a protest that expresses a “public condemnation of his machismo and misogyny”.
In the peaceful protest, which included feminist songs and also chanting “Out with Taibo, out with TaiboTaibo out” was, they asked President Sheinbaum to dismiss the writer who came to the Fund in 2019.
Outside the Víctor L. Urquidi bookstore, they also pasted pages torn from a book by Taibo and wrote down the words “misogynist” and “machista” there.
