This Secret Starbucks Menu Item Tastes Like Delta’s Cult-Favorite In-Flight Treat – Bundlezy

This Secret Starbucks Menu Item Tastes Like Delta’s Cult-Favorite In-Flight Treat

Starbucks is perhaps the most well-known coffeehouse, with fan-favorite seasonal lattes, classic whole-bean coffees, over-the-top frappuccinos, and secret menu items that coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers alike can’t wait to try. In fact, there’s an entire website dedicated to Starbucks secret menu items that’s “made for fans, by fans.”

While taking a quick stroll through the secret menu items for the upcoming holiday, I spy a Red Velvet Cinnamon Roll Frappuccino, a Coconut Milk Pumpkin Macchiatto, a Juniper Lemonade, a Taste the Rainbow Green Drink, and a Passion Coldbuster Tea, to name a few.

Starbucks will also occasionally drop a secret menu item in their app, and yesterday I was the lucky recipient of a suggestion that will remind travelers of their favorite Delta Airlines’ in-flight snack. That’s right—you can get a shaken espresso drink that tastes like Lotus’ Biscoff speculoos cookies.

If you’re not familiar, these legendary crispy, stamped shortbread cookies have a deep, buttery caramel flavor with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. They taste like a combination of a gingerbread cookie and a graham cracker with a crunchy texture.

Starbucks App

For loyal Delta customers, enjoying one of these cookies midflight is part of the experience, and now Starbucks wants you to enjoy it in coffee form. When you’re ready to order, whether you’re in-house or in the app, here’s what to ask for:

  • Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso
  • (+) Extra cinnamon powder
  • (+) Line the cup with caramel
  • (+) 1 pump chai

Surprisingly, the recipe doesn’t call for cookie butter, which is essentially a Biscoff speculoos cookie spread, but we trust the barista to know what they’re doing.

In an Instagram post by @livelifetiffany, they tried what they call the “Delta Biscoff cookie-inspired espresso,” getting fans excited to try it for themselves. “Nothing like a good Biscoff cookie… let alone coffee!” said one person. “I love anything Biscoff! Is it really strong because of the espresso?” asked a fan. “I must be sure to try it next time I’m at Starbucks,” exclaimed another.

In the video, @livelifetiffany stated they ordered theirs hot, but it generally comes iced like a true Shaken Espresso. Either way, it sounds delicious. Per Starbucks, it “tastes like an in-flight icon,” and I can’t wait to experience it myself.

Also, take note that on Nov. 6, Starbucks is officially releasing its holiday menu, including its fan-favorite Peppermint Mocha, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, and Iced Gingerbread Chai. Additionally, Nov. 13 is Red Cup Day, so Starbucks will be giving away the iconic red holiday cup when you order a festive drink. You won’t want to miss it.
