Yep, the summer heat has gone, the autumn air is crisp, and there’s a spooky feeling in the air. Halloween is almost here, and it’s time to embrace some fun, of the frightening kind, at Thorpe Park!
The UK theme park, based in the village of Thorpe, keeps its gates open long after dark in October and November, trick or treating guests to haunting mazes, terrifying horror shows, and devilishly-daring scare zones filled with blood-curdling villains with a literal axe to grind.
If you’re in the mood for something really chilling, IT: The 4D Experience has special effects and 3D projection to bring Pennywise to life. Not for the faint-hearted, it’ll seriously make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
You can get the gang together for a night out with a terrifying twist, or opt for a unique date night with your other half. They say horror is the perfect excuse to cosy up, or in our case, run off to the nearest exit. Either way, it’ll be a night to remember.

Plus, Thorpe Park’s iconic array of rollercoasters and rides stay open to enjoy, letting you brave the twists and turns under a cloak of darkness.
You can fly through the night sky on Hyperia, which is not only the UK’s tallest attraction at 236 feet above ground, but also the fastest, reaching speeds of 80–81 mph.
You can also brave Colossus, the world’s first 10-looping rollercoaster, or embrace the horror theme on Saw – The Ride, which lets you travel through Jigsaw’s hellish torture equipment, and face a beyond-vertical drop of 100 degrees at 100ft. No biggie, right?
If you fancy extending your stay, you can turn Fright Night into an overnight experience, enjoying a two-day park entry. Check in to accommodation close by or treat yourself to a night at one of the Thorpe Shark Cabins.
Each cabin sleeps up to four, which is ideal if you need some company after a night of having your nerves tested to the limit. There’s even a buffet breakfast included in the price, so you can fuel up before you face your fears.
Fright Night returns on selected dates from October 3rd until November 2nd, with prices starting from £36pp.
Short Breaks start at £104pp and include two-day park entry, overnight accommodation, buffet breakfast, free access to the Scare Maze and a first-hour Fast Track from the second day.
Meet you there? We’ll be standing by the Scare Maze with our big girl pants on, and a panic whistle – just in case…
