Thousands of protesters gathered this Sunday (19 October), in Lisbon, to call for peace in Palestine and compliance with the ceasefire.
The column of protesters was reaching the end of Rua da Prata and all those who joined the initiative of the Unitary Platform for Solidarity with Palestine (PUSP), made up of the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) Amnesty International Portugal, Greenpeace Portugal, Doctors without Borders and the José Saramago Foundation, among other organizations, had not yet left Rossio.
“In every city, on every corner, we are all Palestine”, “Long live the struggle of the Palestinian people, Israel is a murderous state” or “down with Zionism, which will fall”, were the slogans shouted by groups of protesters, trying to draw attention to the occupation.
Watching the demonstration go by, the American Jew Miriam applauded effusively.
“I’m Jewish and American and today I’m ashamed of it,” the tourist who has lived in Spain for two years told Lusa.
