Surprise, surprise, there’s another TikTok trend, and this time it’s surrounding Nicki Minaj.
TikTokers are taking to social media to show off their interpretation of one of Nicki’s most iconic poses.
This latest video idea sees people posing like the famed rapper, but in the most unusual way possible. I’m talking posing on tightropes, balancing on bottles, or sitting on top of weights.
But, what actually is TikTok’s favourite Nicki Minaj pose?
Well, in Nicki’s 2013 music video for High School, she can be seen posing by a pool in enormous heels. She’s crouched down, looking stunning, with one leg folded over the other.
However, in this new interpretation, TikTokers have definitely been taking it further.
So, what is the trend, and how do you do it?
At the beginning of July, a fan reshared a snippet from the High School music video on TikTok which showed Nicki Minaj doing the aforementioned pose.
It quickly gained nearly five million views, and has left TikTok users trying to emulate it but in original ways.
For example, Kristy Sarah performed the pose whilst balancing on not one, but two dumbbells stacked on each other. In the video, which now has over 33 million views, she also has one leg stretched out whilst balancing.

The single leg aspect has now been incorporated into most of the trend’s videos, with users posing like Kristy in a variety of strange situations. Ballet dancer Bekah Burke joined in on the trend whilst posing on top of a wine bottle. Just like Kristy, she balanced on one leg, but Bekah took is even further as she performed the stunt in the sand.
Commenters were quick to show their awe, with one saying: “At the point, someone just gotta float. She won,” whilst another added: “There are no words, this is amazing talent!”

So, basically, the key to this trend is to find the most unusual way to do the position, but frankly, I don’t think anyone is beating balancing on a bottle whilst on the beach.
