This Saturday, the Hoy No Circula program, designed to reduce and regulate pollution generated by cars, applies restrictions to the following:
- Cars with hologram 1, odd plate finish (1, 3, 5, 7 and 9).
- All cars with hologram 2.
- Foreign plates.
As every day, emergency vehicles, public transportation, electric or hybrid cars with a zero or double zero hologram, motorcycles and cars with license plates for people with disabilities are exempt.
The Hoy No Circula program is applied from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in all municipalities of Mexico City and in 18 municipalities of the State of Mexico: Atizapán de Zaragoza, Coacalco de Berriozábal, Cuautitlán, Cuautitlán Izcalli, Chalco, Chicoloapan, Chimalhuacán, Ecatepec de Morelos, Huixquilucan, Ixtapaluca, La Paz, Naucalpan de Juárez, Nezahualcóyotl, Nicolás Romero, Tecámac, Tlalnepantla de Baz, Tultitlán and Valle de Chalco.
Air quality in Mexico City
This morning, the Mexico City Atmospheric Monitoring Directorate reported an acceptable level in the Air and Health index, with a moderate risk.
In its 6:00 a.m. report, most of the stations showed green (good), the exceptions were La Merced, UAX.UAM Xochimilco and Santiago Acahualtepec, which were marked in yellow (acceptable).
The Atmospheric Monitoring Directorate reports every hour on the quality of the air breathed in the Valley of Mexico, with the aim of warning the population and making the appropriate decisions if pollution becomes a risk.
