NFL legend Tom Brady is in the hot seat after making an unfavorable and disturbing comment referencing dog abuse during Sunday night’s game between the Chicago Bears and the Dallas Cowboys.
Now retired from the sport, Brady appeared as a commentator during the Fox broadcast. During the fourth quarter of the game which the Chicago Bears took the victory, George Pickens is seen on the sidelines, furious over the loss.
In the video shared online, Pickens is seen sitting down before slamming his helmet into the floor and walking off in anger. Brady is heard commenting on the scene, and it left fans baffled by what he was implying.
“Those helmets can be — it’s like the dog at home,” he said into the mic. “Kick the dog, throw the helmet. Whatever it takes,” said Brady.

Many fans turned to social media to express their confusion over Brady’s comment and their overall distaste for what the NFL legend meant.
“Is Tom Brady abusing dogs in his home??” said one fan.
Another added, “Tom Brady comparing a player slamming his helmet in anger to kicking your dog at home isn’t the color commentary I was expecting.”

Many are calling the comment “disgusting” and claiming that Brady admitted to animal abuse on the air. Others commented with memes of shock, wondering if they heard Brady correctly.
One commentator came to Brady’s defense, explaining that “kick the dog” is a form of expression used during a heated moment.
“You guys are idiots. It’s a figure of speech. When someone says ‘Look for a dog to kick’, they’re not actually talking about dogs or kicking. Instead, it’s an expression used to describe someone who is actively seeking a target or an outlet for their frustration or anger,” they explained.
