Tottenham are closing in on a shock deal to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool this month.
Robertson, 31, has entered the final six months of his contract and recently indicated he was keen to extend his stay at Anfield – if he is getting regular first-team football.
Summer signing Milos Kerkez is now Arne Slot’s first-choice at left-back however, with the Scotland international limited to just four starting appearances in the Premier League.
Tottenham were among the clubs interested in signing Robertson as a free agent at the end of the season.
But The Athletic report Spurs are now working on a deal to bring him to north London this month.
The report adds talks between all parties are progressing ‘amicably’ in a bid to reach an agreement.
