Morning coffee runs often turn into breakfast, and one of my favorite orders is an iced latte with a pair of perfectly cooked egg bites from Starbucks. There’s something so satisfying about having a hot, savory morning meal with a chilled, caffeine-filled beverage.
But with the rising costs of dining out and with more people working from home, folks are seeking ways to make their restaurant favorites in the comfort of their own home. There are loads of recipes for making your own egg bites (and lattes) at home, but if you want something that can be ready in 2 minutes, I’m loving Trader Joe’s new Harvest Vegetable Hash Egg White Bites.
What Ingredients Are In Trader Joe’s New Egg White Bites?
Trader Joe’s is no stranger to heat-and-eat egg bites. They offer their standby varieties of Cheese, Spinach and Kale Egg Bites, Cheddar Cheese and Uncured Bacon and Cheddar Cheese and Turkey Sausage, and generally drop a seasonal version a few times a year.
The new Harvest Vegetable Hash Egg Bites have the egg white, ricotta and asiago base mixed with roasted vegetables including sweet potato, butternut squash, celery and onion. Plus ‘savory herbs and seasonings’ including rosemary, parsley, sage and white pepper.
How To Make and Serve Egg Bites
They’re simple to make – since they’re fully cooked, just pop them in the microwave for 1-minute, let them cool for 1-minute and enjoy. Trader Joe’s suggests “accessorizing” the egg bites with hot sauce, salsa or their Crunchy Chili Onion condiment. Or, serve them between a toasted English muffin, bagel or toast with a side of fresh fruit.
So far, fans are taking to Instagram to share their enjoyment of these egg bites. “Have tried all varieties so far. Have no reason to believe this won’t also be delicious”, said one fan. “This would be great for sandwiches too”, exclaimed another.
