A stretch of the M25 has closed after a serious multi-vehicle crash in Essex.
The incident happened on the anticlockwise carriageway between junction J29 (Upminster) and J28 (Bretwood) this afternoon, trapping cars in the road block while emergency services respond.
Drivers in the area face 30-minute delays, National Highways warned.
Footage shows the air ambulance landing on the clockwise carriageway, which was blocked temporarily.
National Highways said: ‘The anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 in Essex is currently closed between junction J29 (Upminster) and Junction 28 (near Brentwood, for the A12) following a serious collision.

‘Emergency services, including the air ambulance are in attendance and National Highways Traffic Officers are providing support with traffic management.
‘All lanes on the clockwise carriageway have now been released.’
Diversion routes have been put in place.
The crash is thought to have involved a lorry and two vans.
Traffic analyst Inrix said heavy congestion reached Romford and Brentwood because of the diversion.
