It’s a particularly good day to be Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. In addition to announcing their engagement, Guinness World Records announced that the lovebirds have broken an unrelated record.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Broke a Podcasting Record
Thanks to her appearance on her now-fiancée’s New Heights podcast, Swift and Kelce now hold the record for “the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube” in a single day. The 14-time Grammy winner’s guest spot amassed the staggering number on Aug. 13, the same day it dropped. Since then, the episode has been viewed more than 20 million times. Swift used the appearance to announce the upcoming release of her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, with a bit of help from Travis and his brother/co-host, Jason Kelce.
Less than two weeks later, Swift and Kelce announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift captioned the carousel of photos, which showed the two embracing in a field of flowers and greenery.
Unique Insight Into the Couple’s Relationship
Calling Swift a “record-breaking machine,” Guinness attributed the episode’s success to a variety of factors. Obviously, Swift and Kelce’s much-publicized romance played a part in attracting fans and new listeners alike, but the outlet noted that it had “been years since [Swift] sat down for an interview this in-depth.” At two hours, the episode touched on everything from the musician’s record-breaking Eras Tour (the highest-grossing music tour of all time), spoke frankly about the issues surrounding her masters, and gave rare insight into her and Kelce’s romance.
