Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, announced their long-hoped-for engagement on Aug. 26 with a series of photos on Instagram.
That has ecstatic fans hunting for every detail about Kelce’s proposal and the upcoming wedding.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the joint engagement post announced on the couple’s Instagram pages. It showed Kelce getting down on one knee to pop the question and also gave fans a look at Swift’s engagement ring.
The Engagement Photos Gave a Big Clue About When the Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift Proposal Occurred
When and where the engagement happened and when and where the wedding will take place are open questions. However, TMZ noted that the engagement photos do give one big clue about the timeline for the proposal.

TMZ noted that Kelce sported a longer hairstyle earlier in the summer. Thus, the proposal likely happened this month, in August 2025, when his hair was notably shorter.
According to TMZ, Kelce “had longer hair up until the end of July, cutting it during training camp for the Kansas City Chiefs.”
Other details have emerged about the proposal, including information about the ring. And Kelce’s Chiefs’ teammates have reacted positively, offering them well-wishes.
Travis Kelce Designed the Ring Himself, Reports Say
According to People, Kelce designed Swift’s ring. He “proposed with a ring he designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry,” People reported, noting that the stone is an “Old Mine brilliant cut.” The photos had more than 13 million likes on Kelce’s Instagram page alone within just a few hours. They show the couple in an embrace, in addition to Kelce on his knee.
