On Tuesday, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift stole all the major NFL headlines for the foreseeable future with their engagement announcement.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and The Tortured Poets Department singer cemented their status as one of the world’s most famous couples, revealing this afternoon that they are engaged to be married.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift captioned their joint Instagram announcement post.
Congratulations have been pouring in for the happy couple, including from the official “New Heights” podcast Instagram account. For those unfamiliar, “New Heights” is the weekly show Travis hosts with his brother, future NFL Hall of Famer Jason Kelce.
Travis and Taylor’s “New Heights” history
As it turns out, the “New Heights” podcast has played an integral role in Kelce and Swift’s relationship. After all, it’s where the Chiefs All-Pro first professed his interest in the superstar singer in the summer of 2023.
Earlier this month, Swift broke internet records when she appeared on the “New Heights” show alongside her future husband and brother-in-law. Naturally, the “New Heights” account had to acknowledge today’s big news, and they did so in appropriate fashion.
The IG post from “New Heights” included footage of Kelce discussing his crush on Swift over two years ago before segueing into a photo of the two getting engaged.
“How it started ➡️ How it’s going CONGRATS TO TRAV AND TAYLOR ❤️🔥💍,” reads the official caption of the post.
Typically, new episodes of the “New Heights” podcast are released on Wednesday mornings. We would imagine that there will be one out tomorrow fully addressing Kelce and Swift’s major life update, along with some additional details on how their proposal and photo shoot went down.
Until then, congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple.
