Tremor TODAY: Veracruz presents seismic activity again this morning of October 24

According to records of the National Seismological System (SSN)Mexican institution in charge of monitoring seismic activity in Mexico in real time, The states of Veracruz and San Luis Potosí registered seismic activity during the early hours of this October 24.

The SSN operates a network of seismological stations distributed throughout the country that send data continuously and in real time to an analysis center to determine the date, time, magnitude, epicenter and depth of earthquakes.

Tremors recorded yesterday

During yesterday’s day, the SSN announced that several states recorded nearby earthquakes, equal to or greater than magnitude 4. At 12:31 p.m., Oaxaca experienced a magnitude 4 earthquake with an epicenter 47 kilometers northeast of Matías Romero. Almost an hour later, at 1:31 p.m., the state of Guerrero reported seismic activity of magnitude 4.3, 31 km northeast of Acapulco.

Before Thursday ended, Oaxaca once again reported a magnitude 4 earthquake at 7:01 p.m., 116 km southeast of Salina Cruz. On the northern side of the country, Baja California Sur recorded seismic activity of magnitude 4.1 at 9:16 p.m., 70 km northeast of Santa Rosalía.
