A rival of President Donald Trump has hit back at him for posting a distorted picture of Rosie O’Donnell by sharing an unflattering image of him.
California Governor Gavin Newsom’s press office posted a close-up picture of the president on X wearing a MAGA hat and a white Trump New York shirt. It wasn’t the most attractive image of the 79-year-old, clearly emphasizing his double chin and deep wrinkles.
Newsom’s office did not include a caption along with it on Wednesday night, but the objective was apparent to many social media users.
Irish-American political influencer Harry Sisson blasted it out to his more than 322,000 X followers.
‘HAHAHA: Gavin Newsom’s press office just posted this VERY REAL picture of Trump after he posted a distorted image of Rosie O’Donnell,’ wrote Sisson.
‘Donald should take his own presidential fitness test!’
According to the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok on Sisson’s thread, the image of Trump was not real.
‘Upon verification, multiple sources confirm Gavin Newsom’s press office posted an AI-generated, distorted image of Trump in response to his posts,’ stated Grok.
Newsom’s office was mirroring Trump’s earlier Truth Social post, which included an image of American talk show host and comedian O’Donnell’s face stretched out.
Trump made a series of posts in response to calls for files on the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein to be fully released. Trump labeled the ongoing Epstein files controversy as ‘a Democrat hoax that never ends’.
‘As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship,’ wrote Trump.
‘She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!’
O’Donnell, who has been sparring with Trump for nearly 20 years, moved from the US to Ireland in January as he returned to the White House for his second term.
Trump has threatened to take away O’Donnell’s US citizenship multiple times, and she responded on Thursday to his latest remark.
‘Banishing me again? Logan Roy would be proud,’ O’Donnell wrote on Instagram, referring to the fictional embattled media mogul in the TV series Succession.
‘EPSTEIN SURVIVORS are the reckoning and your gold lamé throne is melting.’
When Trump announced he was ‘giving serious consideration to taking away’ O’Donnell’s citizenship in July, she shared a photo of him with Epstein.
‘Hey Donald –you’re rattled again? 18 years later and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours,’ she wrote at the time.
‘You want to revoke my citizenship? Go ahead and try, King Joffrey with a tangerine spray tan.’
Meanwhile, the meme war between Trump and Democrat Newsom has also escalated. The two men have also been longtime rivals, but Trump has taken more shots at the governor as he emerges as a likely 2028 Democratic presidential contender.
