Kaizer Chiefs head into this one looking to kick off their Betway Premiership campaign in style, even without head coach Nasreddine Nabi on the touchline.

As confirmed by Amakhosi, assistants Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze will guide the side after coach Nabi travelled to Tunisia for a family emergency.

Kaizer Chiefs supporters will be eager to see their new signings in action, while Stellies will want to prove they can mix it with the big boys.

NKOSINGIPHILE NGCOBO PREVIEW

Midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo says the team is fully prepared and eager to hit the ground running after lifting the Nedbank Cup title last term and having a solid pre-season in the Netherlands.

The Pitermartizburg-born playmaker, affectionately known as “Mshini,” believes Kaizer Chiefs are heading into the new campaign with renewed focus and higher confidence.

“Our energy is high and we’re going into the season with a positive mentality — not over-excited, but confident,” Ngcobo told the club’s website. “We want to get into a rhythm that we can maintain throughout the season.

“We won the Nedbank Cup last season and qualified to play in the CAF Confederation Cup, which is inspiring us to start on the front foot. We’re motivated to build on what we achieved and give our best in every competition.

On facing Stellies on Sunday: “Playing Stellenbosch away is always hard no matter the venue,” Ngcobo admitted. “They’re tricky, but we know them well. We have our plan and are keen to go all out to win.”
