Patsy King, a star from the show Prisoner Block H, has died at the age of 95.
The actress, best known for her role as Governor Erica Davidson in the Australian series, passed away on Monday after battling a short illness.
Patsy appeared in 351 episodes of the show. Her character was the Governor of the Wentworth detention centre.
Elsewhere, Patsy featured on plenty of other well known Aussie TV shows such as The Box, Division 4 and Homicide.
She was also one of the original presenters on children show Play School, which aired on ABC.
In the world of theatre, Patsy made her stage debut in 1951. After playing Wendy in Peter Pan, Patsy portrayed the role of Agnes in The Fourposter. She received an Eric Award for this in 1963.
The star took the role of Erica from Prisoner to the stage while in the UK during the late 80s.
After a number of sold out performances, the play toured the country.
Patsy was married to John Sumner, the founder of the Melbourne Theatre Company, in 1959, but their relationship ended eight years later.
In 2023, it was revealed that the much loved Australian series Prisoner was now available to view on Channel 5.
The long-running soap, which followed the lives of a group of prisoners, staff and officers at the Wentworth detention centre, initially aired between 1979 and 1987.

While popular in Aus, the show was huge success with international audiences including the US and the UK and has since garnered a cult following, with many fans longing for the opportunity to see if from the start.
In addition to its hard-hitting storylines and dramatic twists, Prisoner: Cell Block H is also notable for featuring early appearances from actors who would go on to star in Neighbours – such as Ian Smith and Colette Mann – as well as Home and Away’s Ray Meagher, who played three different characters.
