It’s almost time for more adventures with Port Devine’s local police department as Hope Street returns to screens for a brand new series.
The popular BBC One drama, which is filmed in Donaghadee in Northern Ireland, has enjoyed four very successful series’ thus far, with the latest batch of episodes having dropped last November.
After much speculation, Metro confirmed in June that Hope Street would return for a fifth series and, with November almost upon us once more, fans are no doubt early awaiting news of when they can get their next slice of Port Devine drama.
We bring you good news as the wait is almost over, with Hope Street series 5 set to debut on BBC One NI on Monday October 27 at 7pm, with the whole boxset expected to drop on BBC iPlayer shortly after.
If you prefer your Port Devine fix on telly then fans outside of Northern Ireland can catch the first episode on Friday October 31 on BBC One at 2pm and weekly thereafter.
The upcoming series follows in the vein of the previous one, with more cast changes expected.
Krypton star Cameron Cuffe joins the cast as Constable Donal Gallagher, a well-known local rugby player, who is confident and charming but his career was cut short by an injury.
As the newest member of the Port Devine police department, he has a new zest for life – and will soon make his mark
Jenn Murray, meanwhile, joins the show as local doctor Sasha Cookson. She is direct, straight-talking and she wastes little time in rubbing up some of the locals the wrong way.
Fan-favourites Kerri Quinn (Marlene Pettigrew), Niamh McGrady (Nicole Devine-Dunwoody), Aaron McCusker (Clint Devine-Dunwoody), Finnian Garbutt (Ryan Power), Tara Lynne O’Neill (Eve Dunlop) will all return.
Niall Wright, who played PC Callum McCarthy, is not expected to appear in this season
Also returning are Eleanor Methven (Lois Dunlop), Paddy Jenkins (Seamie McCarthy), Katie Shortt (Brandi McClure), Marcus Onilude (Luke Jackson), RhéAna Kamalu (Chloe Jackson) and Jonny Grogan (Ross Dunlop).
Hope Street has proven very successful since its debut in 2021.
The first series centred on the arrival of new detective Leila Hussain (Amara Karan), whose presence got everyone talking, while the second saw corrupt Al Quinn (Stephen Hagan) join the police force.
The third series saw Hollyoaks star Karen Hassan join the show as Jo Lipton, while the fourth saw some major cast changes take place, with a new inspector in the form of Derry Girls’ Tara-Lynne O’Neill.
Hope Street Series 5 begins Friday October 31 at 2pm on BBC One or stream the whole new series from Monday October 27.
