Police believe the 84-year-old mother of American TV host Savannah Guthrie has been abducted from her home in Arizona.
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing midday on Sunday – she left her property without her medication, phone, wallet and car.
Family members raised the alarm after she was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills are of Tucson on Saturday night.
It is thought by detectives that she was taken against her will during the early hours.
Pima County Sheriff said at a press conference: ‘We saw some things at the home which were concerning to us.
‘We believe now, after we’ve processed that crime scene, that we do in fact have a crime scene, that we do in fact have a crime.’
On Instagram, Savannah said: ‘Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant.
‘Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment.
‘We need you.’
Savannah, 54, was due to co-host NBC’s Olympic coverage from Milan, but has pulled out of the appearance.
This is a breaking story, more to follow.
