It’s hard to imagine a white Christmas during one of the hottest summers on record, but one TV channel is up for the challenge.
We may be over 100 days away from jingle bells ring-a-ling with Halloween and Bonfire Night still in our future (heck, even Mariah Carey is still defrosting), yet those desperate to wish the year away, you’re in luck.
One UK channel has already launched its Christmas makeover – say goodbye GREAT! Romance and hello, GREAT! Christmas.
The network, owned by Narrative Entertainment, will keep this festive iteration on screens from Thursday all the way to early January, offering up a rolling selection of the best and worst Christmas movies.
Or, as Freeview describe it, ‘a heart-warming seasonal channel with the best collection of Christmas movies on TV.’
In even more delightful news for festive fanatics, GREAT! Player, available online, has a vast selection of Christmas movies free to watch with a single tap.

So, you could be watching cinematic greats like A Bride For Christmas, Candy Cane Christmas and Twinkle All The Way right now (what are you waiting for!).
Unfortunately, those who are still grasping onto the final rays of sunlight in the hopes of living in summer forever, we appreciate this may not be ideal news, even devastating to face.

GREAT! Christmas are not the only ones getting into the Xmas mindset early.
All the tinsled-up content we look forward to on our screens come December has either already been filmed, or is on the home stretch.
Earlier this month, one small British town was transformed from sun-soaked to a full-on postcard Christmas to film The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood’s new M&S Christmas advert.

Although we are yet to see exactly what has been cooked up for what will no doubt be a heartwrenching scene (because if your Christmas advert isn’t making us cry, then you’re doing it wrong), passers-by were treated to the Sex Education star filming in a furry jacket in 28-degree heat.
Meanwhile, streaming channels offer a selection of Christmas content all year round, so there’s nothing stopping you from whacking on the seminal classic A Christmas Prince on Netflix if you are so inclined.
All this to say, as the nation rolls out the red carpet for the new season sooner and sooner than ever, GREAT! Christmas may have just outdone us all with its August start date. So, let the sledge race begin.
