A cargo plane skidded off the runway and ended up falling into the sea while landing at Hong Kong International Airportin the early hours of this Monday. The airport has already confirmed two fatalities.
Photographs taken after the accident show a load Boeing 747painted by AirACT, partially submerged next to the airport breakwater. The emergency slide has been activated and the front and rear sections of the apparatus are separated.

In a statement, Emirates confirmed that flight EK9788 “suffered damage when landing in Hong Kong” and that “the crew is safe”. The company added that the aircraft “did not carry cargo on board”.
