Tyrique Hyde and Justine Ndiba started dating after becoming the Love Island Games runner-ups, and just weeks after filming ended, he’s told her how he sees her. He appeared on her podcast ahead of his departure to Love Island UK, where he didn’t hold back at all.
Despite spending the last few weeks in Los Angeles with Justine and the rest of the Love Island Games season two cast, Tyrique sadly told Justine on her Just Sayin’ podcast that he currently sees her as a friend. He said, “Bro, even if we’re not something romantic…”
He added: “We can be friends. I’ll always have respect for you, I see you as a friend. People are like, ‘What’s Justine to you?’ I’ll be like, ‘That’s man’s bredren.’ Like, you can’t talk s*** about Justine in front of me, like, concentrate.”
He said: “I don’t see myself having anything serious but, if you want a bit of fun, Justine, you know what time it is.” She responded and said: “Call me when you’re in phase three, Tyrique, because I think you have great qualities and we could have fun together.”

Justine said how they “get drunk, make out, fight, and then wake up” while Tyrique said he tried to ask her on a date, to which she said she was “doing her emails”. They also joked that, if he gets to 45 years old and hasn’t found love, they’d find each other again.
Just a couple of weeks ago, he told Blavity’s Shadow and Act: “It’s still very soon. I feel like I’m in a sticky situation because it’s like, neither of us went in there for love or to try and find someone whatsoever. We just ended up finding each other and liked each other.”
He added: “But at the same time, I’m from the UK, she’s from US, not looking for anything real serious right now. We’ve had a couple of conversations. But I still see her as more than a friend. It’s kind of in the weird bracket. I’m in LA right now, she’s been with her family.”
“I’ve been chilling. We’re going to go on a couple of dates, for sure, and see what happens. No pressure. I don’t like putting pressure on these things and people get so invested and kind of ruin things. It’s my life, it’s Justine’s life, and we’ll navigate that the best way,” Ty said.
He continued: “I see her as more than a friend but if it’s anything too serious, definitely not right now. Could it be? Who knows? Slow and steady wins the race.” Tyrique also said he’d have split the money with her, despite planning to steal it for himself at the beginning.
