Uh-oh! Love Island 2025’s first editing error exposes staged chat in the villa

Usually Love Island is filled with editing errors, but up until now there hadn’t been an error spotted in the 2025 series. Of course, it was just a matter of time. The continuity errors are always a thing, and give us 4k proof that nothing on the show is as it might seem.

The first Love Island 2025 editing error came on Thursday, during a very awkward chat. As the Islanders returned from the sleepover villa, Emily found out Conor had been cracking on with Megan, and basically ended their coupling. So, Emily and Megan sat down to chat about what happened.

When the girls first sat down, there were very clearly five prosecco glasses on the table in front of them. Part way through the chat, Conor came over. Note: He didn’t bring a glass, nor did he have a drink with him at all. Then, Megan got up to leave. Also note: Megan didn’t take a drink away with her. So, there were still five glasses on the table.

No, no there weren’t! Well, one minute there were. But then out of nowhere, two more just magically appeared. In less than a second, with no movement anywhere, there were suddenly seven glasses on the table. Yes, seven!!!

For one to arrive, you could maybe imagine a slight editing error with the coming and going, or maybe someone came over and placed a glass on the table, and it got cut. But two?! Clearly, an entire section of this chat was cut out, or it was edited in the completely wrong order, and shown to us to look a certain way.

Two glasses appeared, indicating a huge lapse in time that we didn’t see. What more was said between Emily and Conor? Did they argue? Did they talk things through and sort it out? We’ll never know.
