A Russia claimed to have captured the city of Pokrovsk (Donetsk), in eastern Ukrainean important logistical center for Ukrainian forces, as well as Vovchansk (Kharkiv) in the northeast, having Vladimir Putin praised the Russian Armed Forces.

Putin specifically referred to the Vostok group’s “pace of advancement”which is approaching the city of Huliaipole. “The Chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov, informed Vladimir Putin about the liberation of the cities of Krasnoarmeysk (Russian name for Pokrovsk) and Vovchansk,” declared the Kremlin (Russian presidency) on the social network Telegram.
According to the Kremlin, this report was delivered to the Russian President on Sunday night, but the information was only released at the end of the day on Monday.
The Kremlin also reported advances in Dimitrov, where Russian military forces reportedly control the southern part of the city, and in the southern part of the front line, where they are said to have reached the Gaichur River.
Putin, wearing a military uniform during the visit, thanked the military for capturing the cities and emphasized the importance of this sector of the Ukrainian front. Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov described the capture of Vovchansk as “an important step towards victory and achievement of Moscow’s goals” in Ukraine.
