Katie Price and Kerry Katona’s tell-all tour hasn’t exactly gone smoothly, but the latest stop was certainly rocky as she had to do part of her own live tour on FaceTime.
Kerry and Katie are currently on the road with An Evening with Katie Price and Kerry Katona, a 33-date run across the UK. But things descended into chaos at The Playhouse in North Tyneside, when the show was pushed back an hour thanks to “technical difficulties”.
When the curtain finally lifted, only Kerry was on stage. Katie? She tried to beam in while travelling via FaceTime, and, as you’d imagine, it was a complete disaster.
According to the Daily Star, Kerry carried the first half solo before the pair were forced into an extended interval. Katie eventually showed up in person at 9.30pm, blaming traffic and saying it had taken her over nine hours to arrive. By then, the mood had soured.
People left the theatre demanding money back, calling her half-hour cameo “a joke” and “unprofessional”. One person told The Sun: “We want half our money back because it was only half a show.”
This isn’t the first time Katie’s left people disappointed this summer. She pulled out of Milton Keynes Pride at the last minute, claiming she was too busy filming and recording new music — only to later be spotted partying at Chloe Ferry’s 30th birthday.
Before that, she dropped out of Barnsley Pride and Glasgow Pride, both times just hours before she was supposed to appear.
Organisers have repeatedly criticised her reliability, with one attendee of the Whitley Bay show saying the FaceTime stunt was the final straw: “They didn’t even say sorry properly. No one wants to hang around on a Monday night for that.”
At this point, the only thing more unreliable than Katie Price’s tour schedule is her FaceTime connection.
