Four security workers from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) were charged with prosecution for their responsibility in the death of Rodrigo Mondragón, a Cruz Azul fan, while leaving a game at the University Stadium.
A supervisory judge ordered that Isaac Brian N., 24 years old; Noah N., 45; Luis Alberto N., 47, and José Rodrigo, 57, will remain in justified preventive detention in the Oriente Prison and a period of three months was given for the complementary investigation to be carried out.

Rodrigo Mondragón died from asphyxiation due to strangulation according to the results of the legal autopsy carried out by the Institute of Expert Services and Forensic Sciences (Incifo).
What happened to Rodrigo on the night of October 25?
Rodrigo Mondragón went to the University Stadium to watch the match between Cruz Azul and Monterrey and at the end of the match he had an altercation with UNAM security members.
The version of the university workers indicates that Rodrigo was drunk and behaved aggressively, but when they tried to subdue him he vanished out of nowhere; Although paramedics attended the scene, the fan no longer had vital signs.

On the other hand, Rodrigo’s family assures that the body showed signs of beatings, in addition to the fact that it took more than five hours to inform them about the death of their relative, even when they asked university authorities about what happened the same night of the events.
The UNAM, for its part, only limited itself to reporting that it is actively collaborating with the authorities to clarify Rodrigo’s death and assured that they provided various videos to be integrated into the investigation folder.
