When Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) revealed to Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) that Dennis Rickman fathered her babies in EastEnders, the news absolutely knocked her for six.
At first, Sharon believed that Zoe was making it up, but she backed up her claim by revealing that she slept with Dennis just before she left.
The news her much loved partner had betrayed her left Sharon distraught. She was later found by Ian and Kathy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Gillian Taylforth), who tried to help.
As Kathy and Ian attempted to calm Sharon down, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) was listening to Zoe, who had stated that she might be able to get money from Sharon, and use that to try and track her son down.
It was Kathy who ended up helping Sharon reach a decision on what to do next. She said that if she was in her situation, she’d want to meet the boy and see how similar he is to Dennis.
Kathy also said that if Sharon got there first, it would prevent Zoe from filling the son’s head with lies.
With that, Sharon marched over to see Zoe and said that while they won’t ever be friends, she is willing to help look for Dennis’ son.
In a recent episode of the BBC One soap though, everything changed when Zoe revealed to her mum that she’s completely lied about Dennis being the dad.
The pair’s falling out began earlier in the week after Zoe went behind Kat’s back, stealing money from the Vic and hiring a private investigator to help track down her son.
Kat had made it clear that they should wait until Sharon returned before making any decisions about searching for him, but Zoe couldn’t hold off. Her impatience and determination to uncover the truth about her child pushed her to act alone.
After the discovery of a stray cat in the barrel store, Zoe sat down and told Kat the truth. She explained that Dennis isn’t the father, suggesting there’s a whole new layer to the story that she’s yet to reveal.
With Sharon unaware of this, she’s busy talking to Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) soon about the search for the lad, and Ian senses how much it means to her.
To help, Ian transfers some money to Sharon as she continues to try and find who she assumes is Dennis Rickman’s son.
But later on in the pub, Kat blurts out Zoe’s secret in front of everyone.
Is this about the lie regarding Dennis?
Or is Zoe hiding something else?
