Venezuela announced this Monday that it dismantled one “criminal cell” linked to CIAUnited States foreign intelligence agency.
In a statement, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil, indicated that he had informed the capital of Trinidad and Tobago, Port of Spain, of this alleged “false flag operation”one day after the Chavista government announced the detention in Venezuela of “a group of mercenaries” linked to the CIA.
Caracas considered that the presence of USS Gravely and “a provocation” which can lead to “a war”. “In our territory, a criminal cell financed by the CIA and linked to this clandestine operation is being dismantled”highlighted the head of Venezuelan diplomacy.
US President Donald Trump approved clandestine CIA operations in Venezuela a few days ago and is equating the carrying out ground attacksas part of operations to combat drug trafficking in the Caribbean Sea.
