Since Wednesday afternoon, the official CPAC Mexico account reported that the meeting would be “postponed,” and asked for patience from those who had already purchased tickets:
“Our team will contact you to provide you with all the corresponding information and alternatives. We are waiting for you at CPAC 2026, Texas, where we will continue to defend together the values of faith, family and freedom,” indicated the message published on social networks.
After the announcement, versions began to circulate that attributed the decision to the criticism that Verástegui launched on social networks against Milei, whom he even called a “traitor.”
This Thursday, Verástegui himself confirmed on his X account (formerly Twitter) that his statements against the Argentine president led to the suspension of the meeting.
Family,
As you know, last Saturday I harshly criticized President Milei. It was to be expected that the milleistas would be offended for questioning their messiah, and that unleashed a series of discussions and brawls on networks.

“As you know, last Saturday I harshly criticized President Milei. It was to be expected that the Mileists would be offended for questioning their messiah, and that unleashed a series of discussions and brawls on networks. What began as a difference of opinion transformed into a true pitched battle, of an ideological and spiritual nature so evident that to deny it would be a lie. […] They asked us to postpone the event. “Once the waters calm down, we will be informing you about what will happen next year,” the actor wrote.
Verástegui added that, instead of the suspended event, he will lead the Viva México Summit, scheduled for November 16 in Mexico City.
However, he later posted another message that seemed to contradict his own confirmation:
“Many ask me what really happened with the cancellation of CPAC Mexico. Some mileist fans insist that it was because they criticized their messiah. That’s what they have been saying since yesterday. So, if you want to know the truth, ask them. […] Our movement is different: we do not follow idols, but Christ. “Our King is Jesus Christ, not a crazy person who claims to talk to dead dogs,” he wrote.
Masks out.
Let it be clear: this has nothing to do with the people of Argentina, a brother country that I love, admire and respect.
I pray for Argentina and all of Latin America every day.
But, as they say, in the Lord’s vineyard there is everything.I’m just giving freely…

Finally, in another message, the actor insisted that the decision does not mean the end of the project, but rather “a necessary pause to return stronger”:
“We will continue fighting, with faith and hope, for a Mexico that is free, fair and faithful to its roots. We love our country and we defend life, family and fundamental freedoms. No one gives up here. God, Country, Family and Freedom,” he concluded.
What is CPAC?
The Conservative Action Political Conference (CPAC) was created in the United States in 1974, a year after the ruling Roe vs. Wade that recognized the constitutional right to abortion. Since then, the summit has established itself as a political platform for the American extreme right and the Republican Party.
The event became especially relevant in 2011, when Donald Trump gave his first speech at the conference, five years before being elected President of the United States. Before him, Ronald Reagan inaugurated the first edition in 1974 and, six years later, it also reached the White House.

In Mexico, the CPAC was held for the first time in November 2022, in a hotel in Santa Fe, Mexico City, under the motto “God, Country and Family.” That edition brought together figures such as Steve Bannon, political strategist and former advisor to Trump; Rosi Orozco, former PAN representative accused of corruption; and Ramfis Domínguez-Trujillo, grandson of the Dominican dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo.
Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, and Santiago Abascal, leader of the Spanish party Vox, also participated during that summit, who promoted the discourse of unity of the Latin American right. Meanwhile, on behalf of Mexico, Rosi Orozco, a former PAN representative who defines herself as an anti-trafficking activist, highlighted.
For this 2025 edition of CPAC Mexico, the attendance of figures identified with the ultraconservative agenda such as Eva Sara Landau, president of the Global Human Rights League, was confirmed; Colombian Senator María Fernanda Cabal, recognized for her speech against the advance of socialism in Latin America; Hugo Achá, analyst and director of Research and Dissemination; Lesley Reinhardt, President and CEO of CatholicVoteand Fredo Arias King, businessman and analyst specialized in political transitions.
