The annoyance was such that the inhabitants demanded that the Municipal President leave the site shouting “out, out!”, while they threw mud balls at her.
Faced with this situation, Arrieta Pardo chose to leave with his team aboard a truck, although he was unable to avoid the balls of mud that fell on him.
“I put mud on her so she can feel what my body receives, and she is very clean,” added another of the women, obviously upset.
The indignation of the inhabitants was due to the late response of their Administration to the emergency generated by the overflowing of the Cazones River, which caused a great flood that reached homes, businesses and left the streets full of mud.
Families had to be evacuated, and in many cases, they had to take refuge on rooftops to avoid being swept away by the current.
