Sir David Beckham and wife Victoria Beckham have reflected on their ‘memories’ with son Brooklyn, days after his explosive tell-all statement.
Earlier this week, the 26-year-old budding chef launched an astonishing takedown of ‘Brand Beckham’, accusing his famous parents of ‘controlling’ him from a young age and ‘disrespecting’ his wife, Nicola Peltz.
Brooklyn also declared that he does not want to ‘reconcile’ with his mum and dad, accusing them of ‘performative social media posts’ and ‘inauthentic relationships’, while alleging that Victoria ‘hijacked’ his first dance with his bride with ‘inappropriate’ behaviour.
In the days since, Sir David, 50, and fashion designer Victoria, 51, have remained silent on the matter, except for the football legend’s live TV appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, in which he referenced children needing to ‘make their own mistakes’.
Now, however, the A-list couple have responded warmly to a throwback post shared on social media.
This afternoon, a 2006 photoshoot was shared by photographer Platon, one of which shows a shirtless Sir David with his ‘Brooklyn’ lower back tattoo on full display.
His caption recalled the day he travelled to Madrid to shoot ‘one of the world’s biggest superstars’, with the Beckham brood also on set.
‘Victoria arrived with Brooklyn, who was seven years old, Romeo, who was four and Cruz, who was just a baby,’ he wrote.
‘Brooklyn and Romeo charged into the studio wearing football kits, kicking balls, doing headers and other tricks. While Victoria was busy with the children, I started work with David.
‘At one point, Brooklyn ran on set with his football under his arm and hugged his dad’s right leg. Then, Romeo joined his older brother. Then, Victoria also appeared with baby Cruz in her arms.
‘The whole family turned away from us for a private heartfelt group hug. It was a poignant thing to see—this spontaneous moment of affection happening on a giant photography set in front of 60 people.’
‘Celebrity comes with a heavy price and often it is family members who also pay,’ he added.
Shortly after, David and Victoria appeared in the comments, with the former Spice Girls singer writing: ‘Brings back great memories! ❤️’
‘Good memories ❤️ @platon’, echoed Sir David.
This follows reports that Posh and Becks would reunite with their eldest son ‘in a minute’, having been left ‘horrified’ by how the rift has developed.
