Victoria Beckham has declared that a woman must be a ‘real a**hole’ for her to not get on with them.
The former Spice Girl turned fashion designers’ comments come as her family continues to come under the spotlight after reports emerged earlier this year of a ‘feud’ with son Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30.
Rumours of the rift kicked off three years ago when Nicola reportedly refused to wear one of Victoria’s designs on her wedding day, with reports this year suggesting the eldest Beckham son and his wife had since distanced themselves from his family.
The pair then missed David’s 50th birthday celebrations, Brooklyn covered up a tattoo dedicated to his mum and unfollowed his brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20, on Instagram, while the Beckham’s were absent from the couple’s recent vow renewal as well.
Although Victoria, 51, has maintained a dignified silence on what is unfolding behind closed doors, she’s now made an interesting statement about what would lead her to struggling to get on with another woman.
In a new interview with Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM’s radio show, Victoria revealed it took a lot for her not to like another woman as she wanted to also ‘empower’ them.
‘I’m a girl’s girl. I mean you’ve got to be a real a******e for me to not get on with you if you’re a woman,’ she said.
‘Because I love, I love women, you know, and that’s part of the reason why I do what I do with fashion and beauty.
‘I want to empower women. Yes. And I want to share my tips and tricks with women.’
Although none of the Beckham family have commented publicly on the alleged feud, David and Victoria were apparently heartbroken to be snubbed from the invite list for their son’s vow renewal ceremony in August.
‘This was the final kick in the teeth for David and Victoria. Seeing Nelson having such a pivotal role at the ceremony was heartbreaking for David especially. Not one member of the 30-plus extended family knew about the wedding, or were invited,’ a source told The Sun.
‘His grandparents are devastated too as Brooklyn has always been so close to them.’
The source added: ‘It feels cruel and spiteful. This is no longer a game. It has gone beyond all that. This is a family who feel they have lost their precious boy – and see no way back.
‘Honestly, they are now questioning why he even wants to keep the ‘Beckham’ surname – will he revert to Peltz? August 2nd 2025 – is this the day Brooklyn formally declared himself no longer a part of the Beckham family? It certainly feels like it.’
Brooklyn also failed to acknowledge the premiere of his mum’s huge new Netflix documentary series and didn’t attend its premiere in London earlier this month either.
However, in 2022 Nicola hit back at reports there’d been a falling out, stating: ‘It’s not a feud! I keep seeing everywhere that word, “feud, feud, feud!?”. I mean, maybe they picked up on something? And now they’re labelling it feud?’
Brooklyn also later told Grazia: ‘Me and my family are really close, and my wife and her family are really close.’
In a recent interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Victoria was asked about her children and how she’s navigated stepping back to ‘allow them to make their own decisions.
‘I mean, we’re such a close family,’ she said. ‘You know, communication is key and we always let them know that anything they want to talk about, this is a safe forum. That’s really important. But they’ve got to go on their on their journeys themselves.’
Pressed on how she and David navigated changing dynamics, she maintained: ‘Again, it’s just about communicating. We’ve always been that way with the kids. And I’m excited for them, they’re all very different. They all like to do different things.’
