Victoria Beckham has paid tribute to her Spice Girls bandmates days after being sensationally slammed publicly by her son Brooklyn.

Last week the eldest son of the singer turned fashion designer, 51, weighed in on ongoing rumours of a rift with his parents, including former footballer dad David, 50.

Posting a lengthy statement on Instagram, the 26-year-old launched a brutal takedown of David and Victoria, accusing them of ‘bribery’ and ‘controlling’ him.

He also declared emphatically that he did not want to reconcile with his parents, adding he was ‘standing up for myself for the first time in my life’.

Brooklyn went on to claim his mum cancelled making his wife Nicola Peltz’s wedding dress at the ‘eleventh hour’ and said she ‘hijacked’ his first dance and ‘danced very inappropriately’ on him.

Although Victoria is yet to comment publicly on her son’s bombshell statement, she has posted on social media since then.

On Wednesday she shared an Instagram story wishing Emma Bunton (aka Baby Spice) a happy 50th birthday.

Sharing a throwback snap of her giving Emma a piggyback in the band’s early days, she wrote: ‘Happy birthday I love you so much.’

Now, a few days on, she’s shared a post to again mark her friend’s milestone celebration.

‘Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul @emmaleebunton I love you girls so much @gerihalliwellhorner @melaniecmusic xxxxxxx,’ she posted alongside a photo likely taken this weekend with Emma, Geri Horner and Melanie Chisholm.

Meanwhile her husband David also commented: ‘This made me happy ❤️ I can only imagine how the spice girls fans feel 😍 @spicegirls 😍 @victoriabeckham special night celebrating Emma @emmaleebunton x.’

His comment has so far drawn over 8,000 likes.

Victoria’s posts come days after she was said to be left ‘devastated’ by the targeted statement and claims made against her by her son.

In the wake of Brooklyn’s claims, the internet has been inundated with videos, memes, and jokes about the wedding dance, allegedly leaving Victoria ‘embarrassed’.

However, throughout the difficult week, her former Spice Girls bandmates are said to have been supporting her.

‘The girls have been rallying around Victoria during what must be a really emotional time for her,’ a source told Metro.

‘Emma in particular has been showing her a lot of love and support, even on her 50th birthday she took the time to check in and see how she’s managing. They’ll continue to be there for her throughout this ordeal.

‘They know Victoria well and understand she must be feeling embarrassed and devastated over Brooklyn’s statement, especially that he aired it so publicly for the world to see. After all, they’ve been there throughout Brooklyn’s life so can’t help but feel upset over this turn of events.’

Despite the influx of memes poking fun at Victoria’s alleged dancing, fans have also rushed to support her in an unexpected way.

Since Brooklyn’s scathing social media takedown, the former Spice Girl’s music career has experienced somewhat of a resurgence.

Over the past week fans have been playing and buying Victoria’s 2001 single Not Such an Innocent Girl, which has seen her storm to number one on the Official Singles Sales Chart and Official Download Chart.

Sales and streams of the track surged by an astonishing 19,615%, according to Official Charts Company data, meaning it was the UK’s best-selling single this week.

This also marks the designer’s first taste of solo chart-topping success – which is also even more impressive considering she hasn’t released any new music since 2003.

When initially released Victoria’s single – which was the opening track on her self-titled debut album in 2001 – debuted at number six.

Despite the resurgence of her music, Victoria has previously shut down speculation she might reunite with the girl group – which came after she also skipped their 2019 tour.

‘Before I was in the Spice Girls, I was so self-conscious, and they made me feel that I was good enough, but being on stage, I realised as fun as it is, you know, it’s not ultimately what I want to do anymore,’ she said during an interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live.

Although she said the idea of a residency was ‘tempting’, she ‘can’t take on a world tour.

‘I have a job,’ she continued. ‘I love the idea of it. I mean, I don’t know if I could even still sing. I mean, I was never that great.’
