The Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, confirmed on social networks the eighth attack by the United States against a ship allegedly loaded with drugs.

Los Angeles, October 22 (LaOpinión).- States Joined (EU) attacked another alleged vessel drug dealer Tuesday night, this time on the coast of Peaceful South American, as confirmed by Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.
In the eighth known US attack on a ship since Sept. 2, two people on board were killed, Hegseth said. The other seven attacks targeted vessels in the Caribbean.
Hegseth wrote on social media that the Department of Defense carried out the attack on the orders of President Trump and alleged that the ship was operated by a “designated terrorist organization, which carried out drug trafficking in the Eastern Pacific.”

“Our intelligence knew that the ship was involved in illicit narcotics smuggling, was transiting a known drug trafficking route and was transporting drugs. There were two narco-terrorists on board during the attack, which took place in international waters,” he added.
Hegseth stated that no members of the US forces were injured in the attack. He also shared a video of the impact, in which viewers see a boat moving through the water, then being hit and engulfed in flames.

The Trump administration has told Congress that the United States is in a “non-international armed conflict” with drug cartels, arguing that the narcotics they smuggle kill tens of thousands of Americans each year, constituting an “armed attack.”
Two men survived a US attack on a submarine, allegedly linked to drug trafficking, in the Caribbean last week, and the United States repatriated them: one from Ecuador and another from Colombia. Ecuador released the man, identified as Andrés Fernando Tufiño, after authorities declared they had found no evidence that he had committed a crime.
The Colombian citizen remains hospitalized after his repatriation. The Minister of the Interior, Armando Benedetti, declared that “he arrived with head trauma, sedated, drugged and breathing with a respirator.” Authorities indicated he would be prosecuted. Two other men died in the attack on the submersible.
