Pop superstar Taylor Swift set the internet on fire recently when she joined boyfriend and NFL superstar Travis Kelce and his brother and retired former NFL star Jason Kelce on their podcast.
The podcast, titled New Heights, had never hosted Swift before, even though it has been almost two years since they went public with their relationship back in September 2023.
As we all expected, Swift’s appearance did obscene numbers on various platforms, including Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube. And, New Heights saw a massive uptick in new followers.
Front Office Sports was kind enough to break down all the numbers and they are staggering:
- 379 million views on Instagram.
- 61.6 million views on X.
- 34.5 million views on TikTok.
- 15 million views on YouTube
Adding to those figures, the YouTube live stream of the episode’s premiere, which actually crashed for a bit, had 1.3 million concurrent viewers at one point. The 15 million views on YouTube easily shattered the podcast’s previous record.
New Heights has picked up over 400,000 new subscribers on YouTube since the episode dropped and the Kelce brothers saw their podcast surpass three million followers on Instagram.
As if we needed more evidence of just how popular Swift is, we got it.
While any appearance she makes attracts attention, the fact that Swift revealed her new album on the show only added to the buzz.
Swift announced that the new album, titled The Life of a Showgirl, will be released on Friday, Oct. 3. She also showed the cover of the new album and revealed the name of each song on what will be her 12th studio album. One of the songs features a collab with Sabrina Carpenter.
Swift also showed she’s well aware of the frustrations from NFL fans by poking fun at their complaints over her screen time during games.
“As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast,” Swift said. “I think we all know that if there’s one thing that male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens… it’s more of me.”
Adding to that, Swift displayed her growing Kansas City Chiefs fandom by revealing she geeked out over the team drafting wide receiver Xavier Worthy in 2024.
All in all, it was a well-rounded appearance for Swift, who appealed to her fans and to those who have come to know her more through her support for Kelce and the Chiefs.
