And, in this case, bobbin lace from Vila do Conde.
A Association for the Defense of Crafts and Heritage of Vila do Conde (ADAPVC) secured funding to complete the registration of bobbin lace from Vila do Conde in the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage and for the execution of a plan to promote and value these ancestral Portuguese lace, said, in a statement sent to newsrooms, the organization created in 1984 to contribute to the preservation and recognition of the centuries-old art of bobbin lace. It should be noted that the national inventory is a necessary preliminary step for any Portuguese candidacy to UNESCO.
