There comes a time when a lie becomes too big to bear, and Emmerdale’s Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) has hit that point.
Vinny’s lie has spiralled out of control – from simply beginning to question his sexuality to finding himself beaten to a pulp and extorted for £10,000.
Trying to keep the truth from fiancé Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) has meant throwing Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) under the bus and losing him as a best friend, dodging the police, and living in fear of the man who attacked him.
He blamed the beating on Kammy, which meant Belle Taylor (Eden Taylor Draper) dumped him and Gabby became his enemy number one.
Vinny also concocted lies about the wedding rings (which Mike took) and suppressed his bi-curious urges to plough ahead with a wedding he doesn’t truly want.
But despite all this awfulness, Kammy still hasn’t run for the hills. Instead, he tunes in to the fact something is up with his former pal, and he wants to help.
He questions Vinny and it’s the tipping point – Vinny breaks down in tears and cries on Kammy’s shoulder.
Vinny is embarrassed by his breakdown and finally lets the words roll off his tongue that he was attacked by Mike – really Graham – and blackmailed for the huge wad of cash for admitting he might be gay.
Kammy instantly sees red at what his friend has been put through, but still Vinny will not report Mike to the police.
