A video spread on social networks generated great annoyance after two doctors recorded themselves using clown filters while making fun of a patient who was screaming in pain inside the hospital. General Hospital of Zone No. 2 of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), in Irapuato, Guanajuato.
In the recording, which quickly went viral, two young people are seen in surgical uniform, cap and face mask laughing and applying a camera filter while imitating the screams of a woman who apparently suffers during medical care. The clip was initially shared on the doctors’ personal accounts and, after its dissemination, caused outrage among network users, who reported the incident until it was sent to the IMSS authorities in Guanajuato.
Given the controversy, the institute issued an information card in which it condemned the acts and specified that those involved would be undergraduate internal doctors. In the statement, the institution stated:
“The actions by the undergraduate internal doctors do not correspond to the code of conduct under which the public servants of the Institute must abide.”

The IMSS reiterated that it categorically condemns any behavior that contravenes the principles of respect, ethics and professionalism that should guide medical practice and public service.
Furthermore, through a video published on its official channels, The institution confirmed that an internal investigation has been initiated in order to clarify what happened, determine possible responsibilities and apply the corresponding administrative sanctions if necessary.
The case remains under review while IMSS authorities reaffirm their commitment to maintaining quality, integrity and respect for patients in all medical units in the country.
