Warmer temperatures expected across Gauteng – Bundlezy

Warmer temperatures expected across Gauteng

Gauteng will experience warmer conditions this week, with temperatures peaking in the mid-to-low 30s in several areas. Johannesburg is forecast to reach 26°C today, while Pretoria is expected to climb higher, hitting 28°C. Other towns such as Bronkhorstspruit and Vereeniging are also bracing for hot daytime conditions.

Phemelo Zonke, a forecaster, said, “We are expecting warm to hot weather over Gauteng, with daytime maximums ranging between 24 and 33 degrees.”

Fire hazards in other provinces, not Gauteng

Although Gauteng itself is not flagged for immediate fire dangers, other provinces are at risk. The extreme southern North West, the Free State’s western areas, and parts of the Northern and Western Cape could see runaway veld fires.

Zonke said, “Please take care in those regions and avoid causing unnecessary fires, especially where conditions are dry and windy.”

Coastal rain later in the week

While Gauteng remains dry, the South African Weather Service predicts showers and rainfall later in the week along South Africa’s southwestern and southeastern coasts. These systems are not expected to affect Gauteng directly, but residents are encouraged to stay updated in case conditions shift.

Do you think Gauteng residents are adequately prepared for extreme heat?
