The affected period began last September and will extend until May 2026.
Regarding how many there will be in the coming months on average, It is mentioned in the breakdown that 6 are expected for this month of November, which is about to begin.
For the other months, 7 are expected in December, 6 in January, 5 in February, 6 in March, 5 in April and 3 in May.
This means that the greatest number of systems will coincide with the winter months, when the entry of polar air is more intense.
Which states will be most affected?
The effects vary by region. In the north of the country, states such as Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León and Durango face the most extreme falls, with frost and, sometimes, snowfall. In the center, entities such as Puebla, Hidalgo and the State of Mexico usually register significant decreases, especially in mountainous areas.

In the coastal area of the Gulf of Mexico, so-called “northern events” are common, which generate high waves, rain and intense winds.
