In its distance to the nearest place, “Melissa” is located 480 km south of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and 1,765 km east-southeast of Punta Herrero, Quintana Roo..
Its current movement is towards the west (280°) at 22 km/h. It maintains maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gusts of 100 km/h.

For now, the system does not represent a danger to the national territory.
It is expected to become a hurricane next Saturday, October 25, when it will be 1,380 km east-southeast of Cancún, Quintana Roo.
