The National Meteorological Service (SMN), official climate source of the Government of Mexico, shared the distribution of the rains that the country will have this Tuesday, October 21. These are the details:
This day, a low pressure channel extended over the east and southeast of the Mexican Republic, a high trough over the Yucatan Peninsula and cloud detachments from the monsoon trough towards the coasts of the Mexican South Pacific, will cause showers and heavy to very heavy rains in the aforementioned regions, with occasional intense rains in areas of Veracruz and Oaxaca.
A low pressure area with a probability of cyclonic development south of the coast of Guerrero will reinforce the probability of heavy rains in the south of the country..
Another low pressure channel will extend over the west and center of the national territoryand, in combination with the entry of humidity from the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, will cause rains and showers in these regions.
A new cold front will approach the northern border of Mexico and interact with the subtropical jet streamso strong gusts of wind of 45 to 60 km/h are forecast in the north and northeast of the country.
For its part, a trough at medium and high levels of the atmosphere will enter the northwest of the country, where it will cause winds with gusts of up to 50 km/h, as well as a drop in temperatures in Baja California.
Finally, An anticyclonic circulation at medium levels of the atmosphere over the Mesa del Norte will cause a low probability of rain in said region, in addition to the Mesa Central and the northeast of the country..
Intervals of showers and occasional strong to intense rains could be accompanied by electric shocks and hail.

Very heavy rains with intense occasional events (75 to 150 mm): | Veracruz (Las Montañas, Papaloapan and Los Tuxtlas regions) and Oaxaca (Papaloapan, Sierra Norte and Istmo regions). |
Heavy rains with very strong spots (50 to 75 mm): | Puebla (Tehuacán-Sierra Negra region), Veracruz (Capital and Olmeca regions), Chiapas (north, east and southeast) and Tabasco (east and south). |
Showers with occasional heavy rains (25 to 50 mm): | Guerrero (south and southeast), Campeche (west and south), Yucatán (east and south) and Quintana Roo (center and south). |
Shower intervals (5 to 25 mm): | Puebla (Sierra Norte and Sierra Nororiental regions), Veracruz (Totonaca, Nautla and Sotavento regions), Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán and the State of Mexico. |
Isolated rain (0.1 to 5 mm): | Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Durango, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro and Hidalgo. |
Heavy to intense rain could reduce visibility, increase river and stream levels, and cause ponding, landslides and flooding.
Gusts of wind could cause trees and advertisements to fall.
