The television host Inés Gómez Mont and her husband, the lawyer and businessman Víctor Álvarez Puga, They face accusations in Mexico of organized crime, money laundering and operations with resources of illicit origin, according to investigations by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
The case came to light in 2019, shortly after Gómez Mont participated in his latest television project Families in front of the fire, that same year.the Mexican authorities began an investigation against them after detecting alleged irregularities in public contracts assigned to companies linked to the couple.

Supposedly, Gómez Mont and Álvarez Puga would have received around 3 billion pesos from public tenders through a network of shell companies and simulated contracts, used to triangulate treasury resources.
In September 2021, a federal judge issued arrest warrants against both, which led Gómez Mont to speak out on social media claiming to be a victim of abuse and expressing his confidence that his innocence would be proven. Shortly after, the driver left the country.
That same year, Interpol issued a red card to locate the couple, meanwhile, investigations into their alleged participation in the resource diversion network remain open in Mexico.
Recently, it was announced that Víctor Álvarez Puga was detained in the United States, according to the ICE detention record, which could mark a new turn in the judicial process that both face.
